Changes made during filming

During filming we made a variety of changes to some of the shots due to the location change which meant were not able to shoot some of the shots. We had to adapt to the situation by changing the shot type to suit the location change.

Firstly the storyboard shows Arthur with a bag over his head, but we changed this because we wanted to film a point of view shot but the effect on the audience wouldn't be as good therefore we removed the bag to help the viewer feel more involved.

Shots 1 to 3 are the same but filmed in one continuous shot to help continuity instead of filming each individually.

Shot 5 was meant to be a point of view from Tom Ryder's perspective but we have changed it to Arthur's P.O.V to show the setting more.

Then shot 6 is the same but without a bag on Arthur's head for the reason stated earlier.

The next significant shot change is shot 11 where we have kept the over the shoulder shot but changed the positioning of it because of the lack of space in my garage as well as the lighting a the start of filming. So now the shot is filmed in front of Arthur not behind him.

Shots 20- 27 are different to the storyboard  because there was a miscommunication between the actors whilst they dragged Arthur up the drive. As well as this we changed the angles of some shots and filmed the sequence continuously for continuity. two of the shots were meant to be high angle jump cuts between each other, but we didn't have the facilities to do this.

Whilst we were looking at the clips we were discussing editing techniques to fix some of the issues and to improve on the sequences to fit thriller conventions through the editing.

Another issue we faced was lighting and we couldn't find anything to light up the room effectively and dimly, so we had to settle for the garage light however to fix this problem we can adjust the brightness of the sequences during the editing process.
